Souryuu Asuka Langley, 14 years old. She is the second children being selected by Marduk to become the pilot of EVA-02. She is ¼ Japanese, ¾ German and was born in USA. She came with Kaji and EVA-02 to Japan. She is always proud with her sychonization data and her skill of driving EVA-02. She is active, positive, self-motivated, decisive, competitive and full of confidence that she hates to lose to anyone. To Asuka, Kaji is the right man that she always wants to become his girlfriend. But to Kaji, Asuka is just a small girl. She is a brilliant girl. She finished her studies in the university at the age of 14.
